| "40 seconds" I shouted to Dave, who was busy emptying the cash tills. When a silent alarm is triggered in a bank, the bells go off in the nearest police station. This bank was 3 minutes at high speed from the nearest police station.
That gave us 1 minute and a possible 30 extra seconds to clean out the cash tills and make our getaway before we're surrounded by cops. We had gone for the Public Trust Option on this job. This comprised me and Dave driving up to the front of our chosen bank, leaving the car unlocked with its engine running, running into said bank and trusting no member of the public to nick our getaway car while we were inside.
