SALES ENGINEER
SICK STEGMANN, INC. , a leading manufacturer of encoder products, has an immediate need for a Sales Engineer located in the Southeast, to help support the growth of our world-class manufacturing facility in Vandalia, Ohio. This position reports to the Manager of Sales.
This position has high visibility, and will have direct contact with customers, distributors and sales representatives on a daily basis. The incumbent will have responsibility for helping the company continue its success in building permanent, profitable growth. This will be accomplished in assigned territories, with key and target accounts, and in specific customer markets. The Sales Engineer provides both technical and commercial support to representatives and distributors, and assists the Sales Manager in managing representative, distributor, and direct sales channels in a defined area. The Sales Engineer is the key link between customers and the company’s Customer Service, Engineering and Production functions, determining how products and services can be designed or modified to best suit the customer’s needs. In addition to maintaining current customers and attracting new ones, the Sales Engineer continues to serve as a liaison between the customer and the company after the sale. The Sales Engineer also helps identify and develop new products, and track competitor activities.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline, or an Associates Degree in Engineering Technology and related work experience. Sales experience of at least 3 years, preferably with technical products, in a consultative selling environment, is required. We require an energetic, self-starter who is capable of handling a variety of tasks with minimal direction. In addition, the candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and have a working knowledge of Access, PowerPoint and MRP systems.
