Substitute Teacher
Rosemount is an early childhood education and family support center (primarily Head Start and Early Head Start). The Substitute Teacher position provides classroom support in the event a regular classroom teacher is unable to perform his/her duties. The Substitute Teacher reports to the Lead Classroom Teacher and Rosemount’s Education Manager. This position works under the direction of the Lead Classroom Teacher to provide quality services to infant, toddler, and pre-school children. Many of the families of these children qualify for Early Head Start/Head Start, as well as some families who pay tuition. The Substitute Teacher must perform all duties as prescribed in the Head Start Standards 45 CFR 1301-1311, DCMR-9, NAEYC, DC Standards of Learning, as well as the Rosemount Curriculum.
Qualifications
1. A Child Development Associate credential or at least two years of college from an accredited college or university
2. Ability to lift between 30-45 pounds repeatedly throughout an eight-hour workday.
3. One year of work experience in a parent child center program or infant/toddler program preferred.
4. Experience working with low income and culturally, linguistically and ability diverse children and families.
