Description of the Operations


Our facility at South Queensferry designs and manufactures telecommunications
test products and systems for the world market, with over 90% of the output
exported to Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. Our customer base includes
both network equipment manufacturers (who require test equipment for new
product development and production test) and also network operators such as
telephone companies and cellular operators who need to install equipment and
test the operational network for quality of service.

Agilent South Queensferry provides expertise in a number of product categories,
including network management, mobile telephone test equipment, and Bluetooth/WLAN
test equipment. More than one third of the staff on site is involved in primary
R&D, making Agilent's Scottish operation a leading force in European
telecommunications research and development.

The site also houses one of Europe's most sophisticated calibration facilities,
used for checking and re-calibrating our customers’ equipment.
