Job description
The position will use a variety of techniques to define and sequence instructional content and sequence instructional content and strategies; translate design solutions into instructional materials such as job aids, self-study materials, facilitator guides, and facilitator led materials as necessary; assist with the revision and updating of training materials in response to changes in policy and procedures, and/or based on results of needs analyses; assist in the design of training activities, including lectures, focus groups, discussions, role-play simulations, case studies, and experiential activities; and develop and revise training materials and programs that integrate adult learning theory, use solid instructional design methodology, and include interactive activities and job aids.
Tasks
Specific Skills Required: Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and practices to include adult learning theories, interactive training design, e-learning design principles, distance learning, self-paced instruction, evaluation methods, Human Performance Technology processes, and Electronic Performance Support Systems; knowledge of training design characteristics and the ability to design training, including defining training objectives, developing a plan of instruction, and establishing learning principles; knowledge of learning outcomes (e. g. , cognitive, skill, affective) and the ability to incorporate learning outcomes into training design and development; excellent writing and communication skills; high energy and self-motivation; and ability to edit documents, reports, presentations, and other documents for grammar, spelling, style, layout, flow, etc.
