Associate, Edison Venture Fund's Analysis Team

Edison is seeking to hire an associate to join
its Analysis Team.
As part of Edison's evaluation of opportunities
for venture capital and private equity investments, the Analysis
Team's due diligence activities include conducting financial
analyses and business modeling, assessing technologies and
development efforts, interviewing management teams and references,
and researching markets and competition of investment candidates.
The Analysis Team also participates in the analysis and structuring
of investments for Edison, and assists in the analysis of
portfolio company performance and overall Edison portfolio
strategies. Working closely with Edison's partners and principals,
the associate will contribute to all of these activities,
as well as prospect and research industry sectors for investment
candidates.
Position Qualifications and Attributes

Business analyst
Three or more years prior business experience, preferably
within software product management, market research, management
consulting or investment banking
Strong understanding of a diverse set of business models
and growth issues
Excellent analytical skills, particularly quantitative
analysis and Excel modeling capabilities
Familiarity with finance and accounting
Technology fluency, with programming experience preferred
and MS-Office suite proficiency required
Engineering or business undergraduate education; MBA helpful
but not required
Market research experience to assess customer demand,
pricing, distribution channels, sales cycle, pricing, competition,
etc.
Familiarity with online and database research methods

High caliber written and verbal communication skills
Self starter, with strong work ethic and motivation
Ability to work independently
