Ambulance Operations Positions
EMT's and Paramedics respond to both emergency and non-emergency requests for assistance. This may include assisting various fire departments, clinics, hospitals, patient care facilities, and home residence responses.
Gerber Ambulance Service subscribes to the System Status Management method of dispatching resources. Our BLS and ALS ambulances are posted throughout the response area and are dispatched based on the location of the request and level of service required.
This means that EMT's and Paramedics will be required sit for prolonged periods of time waiting for responses. This position is marked by periods of inactivity interrupted by periods of extreme physical and mental exertion on the scene of an emergency and/or patient care transport.
Duties and Responsibilities
Station and Vehicle Maintenance.
Patient Assessment and Implementation of Appropriate Care.
Documentation including Patient Care, Supply, Billing Reports, Journals and Incident Reports.
Public Relations and Educational Details.
Safe Operation of the ambulance in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
